Fox Thomas

Fox and Thomas met musically 5 years ago, when they were both members of a loose folky collective — in spite of having nothing in common in terms of age, nationality, musical experience or taste, something clicked when they agreed to work on a few Fox songs which had never seen the light of day.  One in particular proved an interesting challenge for the Thomas Dutch Masters recording studio, and in the summer of 2006, the band’s signature combination of delicate, airy melody lines and powerful, dark rhythmic layers came together on the first version of Voice Shadow.  Since then, the reclusive duo have become steadily more studio-based and  their carefully-crafted and irresistible songs just keep coming.  Themes of loss, love and obsession are brought into focus by Fox’s distinctively vulnerable vocals. They have vowed not to leave the studio until their first CD is complete and they’re totally happy with it:  it should be out later in 2008.  They refuse to be rushed, alas, but hey, it’s their music and they care passionately about perfection.  It’s hard to guess when we might hope for Fox Thomas live performances, in the meantime we’ll be enjoying them here at Lovely Recovery.
